SMS/Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

Heal Elgin Project, a community health ministry of Elgin Adventist Church (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization), operates an SMS/text messaging program (the “Program”). By opting in, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Program description

When you opt in, Heal Elgin will send you recurring text messages related to our volunteer and clinic programs. Depending on how you engage with us, messages may include:

– Volunteer scheduling, shift confirmations, and reminders

– Free clinic announcements, arrival and check-in details, and reminders

– Daily service updates during clinic events (for example, the number of patients served and procedures completed)

– Appointment scheduling, reminders, and links to health and educational resources for our Salient Lifestyle Center programs

2. How to opt in

You may join the Program by entering your mobile number and checking the SMS consent box on our registration form at https://healelgin.org/registration or by completing a sign-up form in person at our events. After you opt in, you will receive a confirmation text and must reply YES to confirm your subscription before recurring messages begin.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies. You can expect to receive roughly 2–10 messages per clinic event, and fewer messages between events.

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard rates and fees will apply according to your plan. Heal Elgin does not charge for participation in the Program.

5. How to opt out

You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you reply STOP, you will receive a one-time confirmation and will not receive further messages unless you opt in again. To rejoin, reply START or opt in again through our registration form.

7. Supported carriers and delivery

The Program is available on major U.S. wireless carriers. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on effective transmission by your wireless service provider and is not guaranteed.

8. Your privacy

We respect your privacy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. 9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes take effect when posted to this page. Your continued participation in the Program after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
