Become a Volunteer!
Seeing eyes, willing hands and an understanding heart will give us all plenty to do. It takes an army of devoted volunteers with diverse backgrounds and interests to come together for one mission: to alleviate suffering and prevent pain.
Volunteers are needed for registration, hospitality, facilities maintenance and crowd control. Technical volunteers for triage, vision, and dental, medical consultations, and a healthy lifestyle are very welcome. A short training session will be offered the day before the event and food is provided onsite for volunteers on clinic days.
Here are a Few Areas You Can Help Out In:
Patients Registration Team: You are the first face the community will see. Your responsibility will be to fill out registration forms and warmly welcome patients into the clinic experience.
Triage Team: You will medically clear the patients. Nurses, EMT, etc. will staff this section. Once all medical clearance is completed, we can plug you in somewhere else.
Dental Team: Assist dentists and dental hygienists. Manage instrument table and help with patient flow.
Vision Team: Assist vision team with patient flow, frame selections and glasses delivery.
Lifestyle Counseling: Guide people through a health gauge that sets them up to want to discover the simple lifestyle strategies that can increase their health and longevity. Connect with patients regarding nutrition, physical exercise, and emotional and spiritual needs.
Patients Guides: It’s all about being people’s friends and guiding them to their different stations and bringing them water and snacks. Ask questions, show genuine care, and take time to listen.
Bucket-brigade: Without you on duty, dental wouldn’t go far before getting stuck. You make sure the individual dental station buckets get dumped, waste gets properly disposed of, and assist in equipment maintenance.
Sterilization: Shut-down would happen so fast without your team making sure all the dental instruments are sparklingly clean.
Miscellaneous: If you have other skills, we welcome you. For example, haircutting, cosmetology, massage training, etc.
